Two More for Lucic

CALGARY - Boston Bruins left wing Milan Lucic scored his 25th and 26th goals of the season versus the Flames on Tuesday night.

Postgame, and before the club left for Lucic's hometown of Vancouver,  the big forward talked about his line's recent play.

"Well I think we created a bit of momentum last [game]," said Lucic of his trio, which includes center David Krejci and right wing Nathan Horton.

"You know in that third period Horton got a big goal against Ottawa and then the big goal setting up Seidenberg on the power play and we carried that over into tonight.

"As a line I think we’re most effective when we’re skating and we did that tonight."

B's Head Coach Claude Julien concurred.

"They were as good as I’ve seen them in a long time," said Julien. "I really felt pretty good about all four lines tonight.

"Every line kind of did their job and were really reliable throughout the whole game and that was nice to see."

After some lean times, the Krejci line has recently returned to form.

"I think, going back to it, I think we’re skating better," repeated Lucic. "I think our game kind of fell off there in January and I think we weren’t making smart plays.

"We were coughing up pucks and we weren’t moving like we usually do.

"And these last couple days feels like we’re skating again. We’re smart with the puck and winning battles and if we want to be an effective line that’s exactly what we need to do and in order to move forward," he said.

Lucic's tone-setting first period goal came off a pretty pass by Krejci.

"It’s great," said Lucic of playing alongside Krejci. "He’s great with the puck and he’s got a lot of confidence when he’s got it.

"All you really have to do is drive the net and get open for him. I think that’s a big reason why I’ve been able to score as much as I have this year.

"I’ve just been getting open for him and he’s been finding me in those areas and it’s great having that chemistry between me and him," he said.
