BostonBruins.com - Throughout the 2014 Winter Olympics, Tuukka Rask has been checking in amidst his busy schedule with Team Finland.
The netminder recently made his Olympic debut on Thursday, February 13, in Finland's 8-4 win over Austria (in which 'Cool Hand Tuukk' said he "wasn't nervous at all). Despite the offensive performance, Rask and Finland were looking for much better play defensively. They got that in a 6-1 win over Norway, though he had the night off before starting between the pipes against Canada in their final preliminary round game.
Off the ice, Tuukka has shared his experience through photos, like the one below of the Olympic Torch he snapped on his way to Bolshoy Ice Dome.
Before his Olympic debut, the goalie sent along a photo of him on one of Team Finland's blue bikes that became quite popular among fellow athletes - so much so, that teams like Sweden got in a shipment of the bicycles for their players to ride over to the rink. "Other teams are jealous!" Tuukka had said.
This may not be a photo that Tuukka took himself, but Getty Images captured this great shot of him and fellow teammate Antti Niemi giving a new meaning to "dress and drive" with the "dress and walk" approach from the rink following Finland's pregame skate on Friday.
