BOSTON BRUINS FORWARD PATRICE BERGERON, FINALIST FOR FRANK J. SELKE TROPHY

On where winning the Selke Trophy fits into his career goals…
Nowhere near the Stanley Cup and the gold medal, I’ll tell you that. It’s gonna be an accomplishment in itself, but I’m not sure. It’s a good question, actually,. I really don’t like to – you know, it’s – I really don’t really believe in these types of awards. So I’m happy to be here, honored to be here, but it’s all about the ultimate goal that we accomplished last year and try to duplicate that – you know - some other years.

On if Zdeno Chara will win the Norris Trophy…
Oh yeah, for sure. I mean he’s – in my mind- I mean I know I see him every night, but in my mind, the best defensive defenseman in the league and everything that he brings on the table, you know – his size, his shot, his two-way game. He’s often known as a defensive defenseman but he’s got the great, great vision offensively as well and that’s what makes him such a big threat on the ice.

On the motivation level of the Bruins come September…
I think it’s gonna be very high. I mean, you know, we obviously didn’t accomplish what we wanted to do this year. And you can never be satisfied with something like that. The only year I’ve been satisfied so far is 2011, obviously. So right now, it’s about making sure we’re getting some rest but also making sure we’re ready for the start of the season and ready again to go through some ups and downs. A season’s a long season, it’s 82 games and there are some peaks and valleys each and every year so we need to make sure mentally we’re ready for that and ready for a big season. And now – you know – each and every year we get to know the guys a lot more and the team is together a lot more so we need to make sure we improve every year.

BRUINS DEFENSEMAN ZDENO CHARA, FINALST FOR JAMES NORRIS MEMORIAL TROPHY

On being recognized as one of the best defensemen in the league…
Yeah, I mean, it’s a huge honor. I’m really happy that I can be here again and we’ll see how it goes, obviously. It’s something that I really enjoy, that I’m proud of, but like I said, we’ll see how it goes. I’m happy to be here.

On his name being on the same trophy [Norris Trophy] as notable names…
Well, it’s something I never thought would even happen. Like you said, when you win a trophy and you have the chance to really look around and see the names on the trophy, then you realize it’s for real and – not that you can’t measure up to them – but it means a lot to be able to win something that some other really big names and players that really made a history in the game were able to win it. So, it’s a huge accomplishment.
