1952: Montreal’s Paul Masnick, playing his first NHL game of the season after being recalled that morning from Cincinnati following that club’s playoff elimination, scores at 27:49 of overtime as Montreal evens their semi-final series in game six with a 3-2 double overtime win over Boston. The game had been stopped for 15 minutes in the third period so Boston goaltender Jim Henry could get treatment for a broken nose suffered when hit by a Doug Harvey shot.
1974: Ken Hodge (right) scores his 50th goal of the season for the first time in his career. The goal comes against the Canadiens’ Michel Larocque in a 6-2 Boston loss in Montreal.
