On August 25th, Shawn Thornton spent the afternoon visiting with patients being treated at the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) Clinic at MassGeneral Hospital for Children.
Thornton spent time decorating cookies with children in the clinic receiving treatment. During the visit Thornton also answered questions about how he started playing hockey, life as a Bruin, and what it means to give back to the community.
A member of Boston Fire Station Ladder 11/Engine 29, Andy Burns, was on hand during the visit. Thornton presented Burns with a team-autographed jersey to the Fire House in special recognition for their dedication to MDA. Thornton along with defenseman Mark Stuart are MDA Muscle Team Buddies.
