BRUINS ASSIGN ALEXANDER KHOKHLACHEV & SETH GRIFFITH TO PROVIDENCE & RECALL COLIN MILLER: Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney announced today, January 2, that the club has assigned forwards Alexander Khokhlachev and Seth Griffith to the Providence Bruins (American Hockey League) and has recalled defenseman Colin Miller.

POWER PLAY POWERS ON: The Bruins power play continues to lead the NHL. The team is 26 for 90 (28.6%), with the next highest percentage being 25.2% (WSH).

FIRST HAT TRICK: Jimmy Hayes recorded his first career hat trick on Tuesday, December 29 against the Ottawa Senators in his hometown of Boston. His third and final goal of the night came with just 0.2 seconds remaining, to make the final score of the game 7-3. Patrice Bergeron and Matt Beleskey also scored two goals apiece in the game.

ON THE ROAD AGAIN: In 16 games played on the road, the Bruins have an 11-3-2 record. Their road record is second in the Eastern Conference and sixth in the NHL overall. The Bruins are currently in third place overall in the Atlantic Division with a 20-13-4 record and 44 points, which is just three points shy of the first place Montreal Canadiens.

BRUINS ON THE AIRWAVES: Bruins defenseman Torey Krug has been confirmed as a weekly call-in guest with 98.5 The Sports Hub’s Scott Zolak and Marc Bertrand (Zo and Bertrand), which airs weekdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Adam McQuaid will be a regular guest on 100.7 WZLX with Kevin Karlson and Pete McKenzie (Karlson & McKenzie), which airs weekdays from 5:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Call-in days and times are dependent upon the B’s schedule.
