DOWN THE STRETCH: There are 15 games remaining on the Bruins schedule. They will play five at home and 10 on the road; 14 vs. Eastern teams (9 Atlantic, 5 Metropolitan) and 1 vs. the West (Anaheim on 3/26); 8 are vs. teams currently in playoff position (2 vs. Tampa Bay, 2 vs. Washington, 1 each vs. Pittsburgh, Anaheim, NY Rangers and Detroit) and 7 are against teams currently out of a post-season berth (3 vs. Florida, 1 each vs. Ottawa, Toronto, Buffalo and Carolina).

CAPITALIZING EARLY: The Bruins have now scored the first goal of the game in ten straight contests and are 7-2-1 during that span. This is the longest such streak since they opened the scoring in 12 straight games from Feb. 3-26, 1990 (courtesy Elias Sports Bureau).

CAN’T STOP, WON’T STOP: Ryan Spooner is currently riding a seven game point streak with 3-5=8 totals in that span. MARCHAND LEADING THE B’S IN GOALS AND PIMS: Forward Brad Marchand is the only player in the NHL who currently leads his team in both penalty minutes and goal scoring.

This sellout streak began on December 5, 2009 against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
