Tank Top Still in Vogue

Tim Thomas will start again on Thursday.

Thomas, now 4-1-0 in his last five starts, and 11-4-1 in his last 16 decisions, is 11-6-2 overall.

The goalie says he is doing fine, despite the workload, and has no physical problems limiting his effectiveness.

"I am not physically hurt in any aspect," said Thomas. "That makes it easier.

"Because if you had a little nagging injury that can make it harder. Fortunately, right now, I am 100% healthy.

Tim, is it easier to focus when you are playing so often?

"Sometimes, yes," he said. "And other times, you have to work a little bit harder. But when you are playing a lot of games, even in the times when you have to focus harder, it’s kind of easier because you have been in the same mindset."

And right now Tim’s mindset is A-OK.

Axelsson and Mara: The Return?
Paul Mara looked ok today in practice. Axelsson did not practice.

"Don’t know how long [on Axelsson]," said Head Coach Dave Lewis. "I guess…the right word is indefinite. It’s not day-to-day because he won’t be available for tomorrow.

"We’ll have to just wait and see."

And Paul?

"Mara will skate tomorrow morning," said Lewis. "We’ll see how he feels after today’s practice. He looked good in practice today and he moved well.

"He skated yesterday. I watched him skate, too, down at the Garden. So we’ll wait and see how he feels tomorrow."

Petr Tenkrat took Axelsson’s place on the Savard line and there was a hole on the Kessel line.

"We’re probably going to bring someone up," said GM Peter Chiarelli. "Later today, after 5 p.m."

So, that means there will be more news later…
