BostonBruins.com - With Ryan Fitzgerald sidelined by an upper-body injury, teammate and Providence Bruins captain Jordan Szwarz has been named as his replacement for Sunday's 2019 AHL All-Star Classic in Springfield.

The 27-year-old former fourth-round pick, who leads the P-Bruins with 14 goals this season, will be making his first career All-Star appearance. Szwarz, now in his third season with Providence and first as captain, is fourth on the team with 23 points in 36 games.

The 5-foot-11, 180-pound center had 21 goals and 48 points in 52 games last season with Providence, while adding three assists in 12 games with Boston.

Fitzgerald had been the P-Bruins leading scorer prior to his injury. The 24-year-old former fourth-round pick has 26 points (seven goals, 19 assists) in 36 games during his second full professional campaign.
