Boston, MA --
The B's top draft pick in 2010, Tyler Seguin
, is happy that the wait is over.
"It’s finally here," said Seguin after this morning's pregame skate. "It feels pretty good to actually go out and play in the game.
"It’s been about 3-or-4 months since I’ve played in a game, probably like everyone else in this room, so it’ll be quite the experience."
Seguin talked about the things going through his mind as he looks to take the next step in his hockey career.
"I really like skating around and realizing it’s one step closer to this goal of mine I’ve had my whole life, which is to be in the NHL and it’s nice to feel this way," said Seguin, who also said he was feeling comfortable, but within reason.
"Not only is it hockey up here-it’s a profession and a job," he said. "That’s why we all play it, and that’s why I love it."
He's not alone. All of the rookies have formed a fast bond.
"Well, yeah I’ve been living in a hotel with all the boys," said Seguin. "I’ve gone to some movies, gone to the malls.
"There’s about 6-or-7 of us that have been here for 2 and a half or three weeks, so we’ve been golfing a lot.
"We’ve kind of had to spend time with each other, but we’ve all enjoyed it so far," he said.
But the fun is over and tonight marks a turning point.
"I’m just going to go out there and work my hardest," said Seguin. "I’m not going to go out there and do a fancy move and get smoked or get hurt or something.
"I’m going to out there and work my hardest, show my game, and hopefully we can get the win."
