BOSTON, MA - Boston Bruins President Cam Neely announced that Season Three of the Black & Gold’s all-access television series “Behind the B” presented by Alex and Ani, will debut on Thursday, September 17 at 6:00 p.m. on NESN with an hour-long premiere. A total of 13 episodes of “Behind the B” are slated to air during the 2015-16 season, with the full episode schedule to be released at a later time.
The Bruins have partnered with Charlie Moore and Mad Fish Productions to produce the show and will again be narrated by actor and Worcester, MA native Denis Leary.
For the third straight year, the Bruins have granted “Behind the B” cameras unprecedented access into the team’s locker room, executive boardroom, and player’s homes that will give fans a behind-the-scenes look at the inner workings of the organization throughout the duration of the 2015-16 campaign.
The hour-long season premiere episode documents the team's offseason, beginning with the hiring of Don Sweeney as General Manager, continuing through the NHL Draft, Development Camp and the informal practices that began in September.
Other exclusive “Behind the B” related content will be available on BostonBruins.com and the Boston Bruins Digital Entertainment Network (Bruins DEN) throughout the season.
The series debuted with Season 1 in 2013, airing 15 episodes, followed by Season 2, which consisted of 13 episodes. The show was nominated for a New England Emmy Award for the Best Sports Series in both 2014 and 2015.
The “Behind the B” introduction won a New England Emmy Award in the Musical Composition and Arrangement category in 2014. The intro was created using only still photography and then converted to a grainy/gray scale in order to create a raw, evocative look. Each photograph was treated with a combination of 2D, 3D, and After Effects Parallax to create moments seemingly frozen in time. The music is an original composition by Hifi Music, Paul Robb, and Jack Bradley.
