Providence, RI – The Providence Bruins fell to the Springfield Falcons 3-2 Sunday afternoon at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center.  The P-Bruins got goals from Pascal Pelletier and Brett Skinner.  The 11-2-1 P-Bruins are back in action Wednesday at The Hartford Civic Center to take on the Hartford Wolf Pack at 7:00 p.m.

The Falcons scored the first two goals of the first period, while on a major power play.  At the 9:47 mark, Patrick Thoresen scored off a rebound on a shot from T.J. Kemp.  Sebastien Bisaillon recorded the second assist.  At the 10:30 mark, Kemp took a shot from the blue line and the puck was redirected into the net by Bisaillon.  Fredrik Johansson had the second assist.  The P-Bruins scored on a power play goal of their own at the 16:39 mark.  Matt Lashoff worked the puck from the blue line to Vladimir Sobotka along the right boards.  Sobotka took a shot and the puck was tipped from just outside the crease by Pelletier and into the net.  Providence went into the first intermission trailing 2-1.

In the second period, Springfield scored the lone goal, while on the power play at the 14:37 mark. Colin McDonald scored, with Kemp and Rob Schremp getting the assists.  The Falcons took a 3-1 lead into the second intermission.

In the third period, the P-Bruins pulled within a goal at the 15:24 mark.  Martins Karsums intercepted a clearing attempt at the blueline and passed the puck to Skinner.  He put it under the crossbar into the upper right hand corner of the net.  The P-Bruins were unable to tie the game in the third period and fell 3-2, suffering only their second loss of the season in regulation.

Tuukka Rask stopped 17 of 20 shots for the P-Bruins, while Jeff Deslauriers made 29 saves for the Falcons.  The P-Bruins were 1-for-7 on the power play and 4-for-7 on the penalty kill.
