BOSTON - The Bruins will be aiming for their eighth straight victory - and some more history - on Tuesday night when they welcome the Nashville Predators to TD Garden.
Boston can set the franchise record for single-season victories (58), while also having a chance to secure the fourth Presidents' Trophy in team history with a win and a Carolina loss in regulation.
The Bruins have captured the league's top seed 14 times, three of them (1989-90, 2013-14, and 2019-20) coming since the Presidents' Trophy was introduced in 1985-86. Boston is one of five teams to win it at least three times, in addition to Detroit (six), Colorado (three), the New York Rangers (three), and Washington (three).

Per NHL Stats, the Bruins - set for their 74th game on Tuesday - can tie for the third-fewest contests to clinch the top seed since the schedule was expanded to 82 games.
Boston, meanwhile, has seven times finished as the top seed in its conference (East: 2001-02, 2008-09, 2013-14, 2019-20; Prince of Wales: 1982-83, 1989-90, 1990-91).
