BOSTON - The Bruins will close out the road slate of the exhibition season on Wednesday night with a tilt against the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden. Jeremy Swayman will get the start in goal and is expected to play the full 60 minutes, while David Pastrnak will make his preseason debut skating on a line with Pavel Zacha and David Krejci.
Here's everything else you need to know ahead of the 7 p.m. ET puck drop on TNT:

Slide to the Left: During Wednesday's pregame skate, Jake DeBrusk shifted back to his natural left-wing position, while skating alongside Jack Studnicka and Marc McLaughlin. With Taylor Hall and Brad Marchand sidelined by injury, coach Jim Montgomery is looking at all of his options for filling out the Bergeron line.
"Highly considering. All options are on the table," Montgomery said of DeBrusk shifting to the left side. "Whether it's a right winger or a left winger, we're thinking about a lot of options to play with Bergy and JD…I actually talked to [DeBrusk] during the morning skate today and we talked more about players and style of play of players that we think would help complement them the most."
Making Progress:Hall skated on his own before Wednesday's full team session as he tries to work his way back from an upper-body injury suffered on Saturday against the Flyers. Marchand and Charlie McAvoy also skated as they progress in their rehabs from offseason surgery.
"What I'm finding out is how tough he is, and I guess his pain tolerance is really high," Montgomery said of Hall, who was originally termed as week-to-week. "He's pushing it. He doesn't want it to be week-to-week. We're just monitoring it right now. It was his first day on the ice and we'll see how he feels [Thursday]. There's a little bit of hope that he can be back sooner than week-to-week."

Back in the Mix: Fabian Lysell, also injured on Saturday against Philadelphia, will return to the lineup on Wednesday night. The winger is slated to skate on a line with Jakub Lauko and Johnny Beecher.
"How quickly he can get into a scoring position," Montgomery said of what's impressed him most about the 19-year-old. "We see it on the power play this morning again. He has the ability to quickly get inside scoring areas and he puts people on their heels.
"His development has been quicker than we expected it in that aspect [of not deferring to the more established players]. I give full credit to our veteran players [for guiding him]."
Making Cuts: On Tuesday, the Bruins announced that defensemen Connor Carrick and Nick Wolff, as well as winger Oskar Steen were placed on waivers for the purpose of assignment to Providence. When it comes to Steen, who was a candidate to make the Opening Night roster at the start of camp, Montgomery said, "I just think that other players outplayed him in camp so far. That was the determining factor."
