CHICAGO -The Bruins will be looking to avoid a second consecutive loss on Tuesday night as they visit the Chicago Blackhawks at United Center in the second game of a five-game road trip. Coming off of a tough back-to-back split over the weekend against the Red Wings, the Bruins were granted a day off on Monday for some well deserved rest, and will look to start a new win streak in Chicago.

Lineup Update

  • After taking a puck off the ankle in Saturday's game against the Red Wings at TD Garden, Hampus Lindholm was out of the lineup for Sunday's game vs. Detroit. With a day off Monday, coach Jim Montgomery believes he could be ready to play Tuesday night vs. the Blackhawks. "I talked to Lindholm at the end of the skate and I think he is going to play," said Montgomery. "I would say 90% certain."
  • If Lindholm does not play, Jakob Zboril will be in. "If Lindholm doesn't play, Zboril will go in because it's Brandon Carlo's turn in the rotation," said Montgomery. Carlo also took a hard dive into the boards on Sunday, making an unbelievable stop on a Red Wings breakaway. "With that collision he had..it was kind of like a minor car accident," said Montgomery. "So this is a good opportunity for the body to lose a couple of bruises."
  • As for changes to the forwards, Coach Montgomery switched Pavel Zacha back to the second line to skate with David Pastrnak and David Krejci, while Tyler Bertuzzi moved down to skate with Charlie Coyle and Trent Frederic.
  • Coach Montgomery did not officially name a starting goaltender.

Opposing View

Chicago is returning from a winless three-game road trip that included losses to the Detroit Red Wings, Florida Panthers, and Tampa Bay Lightning. The Blackhawks sit last in the Central Division with a record of 22-38-6.
Montgomery was asked about what it meant to play a Chicago team without star-winger Patrick Kane, who was traded to the New York Rangers earlier this month.
"Well, we don't worry about where Patrick Kane is," said Montgomery. "We can do our regular neutral zone and kind of fore checking pressure and not have to worry about where he is coming from on the ice."
