BOSTON, MA – Members of the Boston Bruins 1970 Stanley Cup team will be available to the media at 4:30 p.m. in the Executive Offices at the TD Garden (100 Legends Way, Boston, MA, 02114) on Thursday, March 18, prior to the Bruins/Penguins game. All media wishing to speak with the 1970 alumni should meet at 4:15 p.m. in the Will McDonough Press Room (Third Floor, TD Garden) where they will be escorted by the Bruins Communications Staff to the second floor. Please be advised that members of the media will not have access to the Executive Offices unless accompanied by the Bruins Communications Staff.
Members of the 1970 Stanley Cup team who are expected to be in attendance include Johnny Bucyk, Bobby Orr, Derek Sanderson, Ken Hodge, John McKenzie, Eddie Johnston, Ed Westfall, Fred Stanfield, Wayne Carleton, Don Marcotte, Dallas Smith, Bill Lesuk, Rick Smoth, Bill Speer and coach Harry Sinden. Each of the alumni will be sporting special black blazers from Lord & Taylor.
Prior to the Bruins/Penguins game, the Boston Bruins will honor and recognize the entire 1970 Stanley Cup winning team with an on-ice presentation.
Immediately following the game, members of the 1970 Stanley Cup team as well as the entire 2009-10 Bruins roster and Bruins management will celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the Bruins’ 1970 Stanley Cup with a post game reception. The 40th Anniversary Celebration offers Boston Bruins fans an experience of a lifetime, as fans will have the chance to meet and mingle with their favorite current Bruins and 1970 alumni from 9:30 p.m. until 1:00 a.m. Please note that this event is closed to all media, with the exception of still photographers.
Event tickets are available at BostonBruins.com for $275 and include complimentary food, beverage and a special gift. Tickets to this event do not include a game ticket. Tickets to that night’s Bruins/Penguins game can be purchased separately.
Net proceeds will benefit the Boston Bruins Foundation and the Boston Bruins Alumni Foundation.
