WHAT: Treasurer Cahill and Executives and Owners from the four Boston area professional sports teams announce that the Massachusetts State Lottery has sold more than $1 billion in sports-themed game tickets.

WHY: Since creating the sports-themed instant ticket market in 2006, the Massachusetts State Lottery has entered into partnerships with all four Boston-area professional sports franchises. These relationships have created the most successful market for sports-themed lottery games in the nation. The Lottery has sold more than $1 billion in sports-themed tickets, raising more than $140 million for the Bay State’s 351 cities and towns.
