Just got a text message from guru of all things brewin’ with the Bruins, Ryan Nadeau, a Bruins staffer with the team in New York.
He says that Hannu Toivonen will start in goal for Boston this evening and Nathan Dempsey will see some time on the blue line.
Oh, and by the way, Friday, the Boston newspapers were reporting that the Islander’s ice was in rough shape after an Iron Maiden concert, so that the Bruins had to practice elsewhere yesterday.
Today, the ice is "remarkably good," Ryan said.
Oh and one more thing.
I was looking at the New York Islander’s website and it lists the following in their preview of tonight’s game:
ISLANDERS, Goaltenders, 1 Mike Dunham, 34 Wade Dubielewicz.
Notice anything there? No Rick DiPietro.
And a quick perusal of the team’s game notes lists "The Rick" as the third string goalie.
Could be nothing, could be something, definitely interesting.
At 6:40, NESN called it a "high groin tweak" for Ricky D.
Oh, and by the way. Food shopping = nightmare, but at least it is over.
The Good News: I earned some homemade potato skins and onion rings. And a large serving of pork chops. Yummy! Thanks, General!
The Bad News: I am mowing the lawn tomorrow. "It should only take you an hour and a half," said the General. Thanks, General?
Maybe it will rain…Enjoy the game!
