BOSTON - Trevor Kuntar, the Bruins' third-round draft pick (89th overall) in 2020, recently stopped by TD Garden on Tuesday night ahead of signing his two-year, entry-level contract with the Bruins. The 21-year-old reflected on his three-year run with the Boston College Eagles and looked ahead to beginning his professional career in Providence.
"It's an honor," Kuntar said of inking a deal with the Bruins last week. "I'm super thankful and I'm really excited."
Signing a contract with the Bruins at any time would be exciting, but with the historic run the team has been on this year, Kuntar couldn't be happier to be a member of the organization. "It's unbelievable," said Kuntar. "Just watching them throughout the year and being a part of that organization, I couldn't be any happier."

Kuntar had a solid junior year at Boston College as the 6-foot, 195-pound forward earned 13 goals and 16 assists for 29 points in 2022-2023.
"In my third year, one thing I wanted to improve on was my skating and just getting better at that every day," said Kuntar, who finished his BC career with 28 goals, 31 assists, and 59 points in 93 games.
And with it being Kuntar's third campaign with the Eagles, he also took on more of a leadership role for his younger teammates. "Being in a leadership role helped me get a lot of experience and be a good role model for guys too," said Kuntar.
Kuntar has participated in two of the Bruins summer development camps (2021 and 2022) and is aiming to use what he gained during those experiences as he heads into his professional career. "It was just a really cool experience meeting everybody and kind of getting a taste of the pro lifestyle a little bit," said Kuntar. "It's a hard week but it's a fun week, it's just really enjoyable overall."
Kuntar's dad, Les, was selected by the Montreal Canadiens in the 1987 NHL Entry Draft and played six games as a goaltedner for the Habs, which provides the Williamsville, N.Y., native yet another outlet to draw from for advice. "Obviously it's a rival so that's kind of funny," said Kuntar. "But it's been awesome and he's been so supportive. It's been great."
