Rochester, NY -- After the Bruins 4-2 win on Wednesday, Claude Julien spoke at length about Tyler Seguin's exhibition debut.

"You can see there’s a lot of potential and a lot of skill," said Julien, who has begun his fourth season with the Black & Gold. "What he learned tonight is that he’s got to learn the little things and sometimes he was caught going up the ice in the middle and against two or sometimes three guys, and he’s going to notice he can’t stick handle it out against three guys in this league.

"It’s a real good learning process for him, and [we’ll] start him off at center," added Julien. "I thought he did a real decent job, but we wanted to put him on the wing too with Bergy [Patrice Bergeron] and Rex [Mark Recchi].

"We thought there was some chemistry there before.  I thought, overall, it was a good game for him."

Julien said that he sensed some nerves from Seguin and many of his young teammates.

"Yeah, I think it’s understandable in the first game in a building like this against the Montreal Canadiens," said Julien. "It’s normal that he’s going to be nervous, but he still showed us enough that he can skate in this league, there’s no issues there, and he can make plays.

"He’s just got to get more and more comfortable as we move on here. He’s a smart individual, and he’ll figure it out and figure it out pretty quick."

Julien said it was a little early to tell where he will fit into the lineup going forward.

"We are going to play him at center and we’re going to play him on the wing and I think when it’s all said and done, we will figure out the puzzle here," said Julien. "But we are trying him at both positions, and we’ll see where we go.

"As of right now, we are missing Marc Savard, and we’re hoping that he’ll be back sooner rather than later, and if that’s the case, that center position is pretty stacked

"[Seguin's] one of those guys the can play the wing, and he feels very comfortable with that too, so we’ll figure it out with time."
