Hamill, Marchand Assigned to Providence

BOSTON, MA - Boston Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli announced today that the club has assigned Zach Hamill and Brad Marchand to their American Hockey League affiliate, the Providence Bruins. After these two transactions, 22 players now remain on the club’s roster.

Drafted by the Bruins in the first round (8th overall) in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, Hamill skated in six games this preseason for Boston and registered two goals. In 65 games last year for Providence, Hamill tallied 13-13=26 totals.

Marchand appeared in five games this preseason for Boston and netted two goals. Selected by Boston in the third round (71st overall) in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, Marchand notched 18-41=59 totals in 79 games played last season with the P-Bruins.

The Bruins will hold their annual Media Day today, Monday, September 28 at the TD Garden. The Bruins will practice at 9:30 a.m. and the club will hold a press conference at 11:00 a.m. Bruins players will be available to the media beginning at 11:30 a.m.
