Bon matin! It’s an absolutely pristine morning in Montreal.
From my vantage point I can see Mount Royal and the top of the Bell Centre. And earlier I watched the moon set this morning behind the mountain as I finished my game preview at around 6 am. It is under the Game Day dropdown under "next game."
That early morning sight was gorgeous. Even though the 6:00 on the alarm clock was not.
The one scary thing about the view from my window right now -- the flags are straight out and the snow has not melted.
My assumption: (sing with me) Baby it’s cold outside…
Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. It looks downright frigid.
The General says it’s snowing in Massacusetts this morning, so people in both Montreal and Boston should be riled up for tonight’s match-up. For whatever reason, snow on the ground just means hockey to me.
Always has. But pretty much everything means hockey to me, but I digress.
The locals are fired up for the game. And both newspapers have big stories on the contest.
Got a nice e-mail from a Montreal based Bruins fan:
I’ve lived in montreal all 26 years of my life, and have always been, and always will be a Bruins fan (since the age of 8!) As you can imagine, living here and cheering for the Habs rivals has always been a little tough, to put it mildly. There is nothing that would make me happier than to see Bergeron score the winning goal on Monday (or next Tuesday for that matter, I’ll be there, too)! All in all i must say this is the most balanced team I’ve seen in years! I wish them the best of luck, and I can’t wait to see my team live and in action for the first time this season! Keep up the good work, and Go, Bruins, Go!!
Wayne (not Primeau) B.
P.S.- Feel free to use any of my ranting on your blog, I just want my team to know not all the fans in the arena will be cheering for les Canadiens!
Thanks Wayne, now they know.
And you are not the only one! I have gotten many, many e-mails from Bruins fans in Quebec and throughout Canada.
There will certainly be some cheers for Our Boys in the Bell Centre tonight!
In any case, I am not sure how protocols work at the Bell Centre for practices, but word is that the Bruins are on the ice at 11:30. I assume that means the Habs are on first at around 10 or 10:30.
So I am going to cut this short right now. Have a great day!
And remember if you don’t get Versus. Keep it here and listen live through our website. I post the link in the scoreboard at around game time.
