Foundation to Donate 700 Pairs of Shoes

by Staff Writer / Boston Bruins

BOSTON, MA - The Boston Bruins Foundation has partnered with the Children's Trust Fund (CTF) to raise awareness of child abuse throughout the state of Massachusetts. The Boston Bruins Foundation will donate 700 pairs of new children’s shoes to CTF, which represents the average number of children abused and neglected per week statewide. The shoes will go to benefit the CTF’s sixth annual "Step Up For Prevention" campaign.

The Boston Bruins wives and girlfriends will shop for the children's shoes from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. on Friday, March 26, 2010 at Target in Woburn (101 Commerce Way, Woburn, MA 01801). The shoes purchased will be on display, lining the steps of the Massachusetts State House Grand Staircase (Beacon Street at Park Street) on April 1, 2010. The shoes will then be donated to families who participate in CTF-funded programs across the state.
