Hello from Columbus.
Hopefully you have been following our progress via @NHLBruins on Twitter.

As this is the first of four games in five days, my partner in crime -- Jonny Golib video producer for -- treated ourselves to a nice meal from Potbellies!

Outstanding sandwiches, for sure, but we've returned to find the B's taking the ice in front of friends and family. Man, is it quiet.

Spotted from the press box -- a Providence Bruins jersey.

B's Columbus Bound

I asked Boston Bruins head coach Claude Julien what he hopes to get out of this evening's tilt with the Columbus Blue Jackets.

"It's probably more of a chance for us to evaluate some players," said Julien after this morning's practice for tonight's game players.

Tonight's game against the Blue Jackets puts the B's on the other side of the hill as the club works through it's final four games of the preseason.

"I think it's starting to come around," said Julien of the Bruins regular season readiness. "The new guys are getting used to how we want to play and at the same time I think the fact that everybody had a day off at one point in the last two days [makes us] a lot fresher out there."

That was indeed evidenced by the up-tempo performance of the squad that faced the Canadiens on Sunday night and also by the timbre of this morning's practice.

Sabourin's Turn
Julien was also asked about the race for the spot next to Tim Thomas in the locker room. However, the B's bench boss was unwilling to speculate on his final decision concerning the second goaltending spot.

But he did say a resolution may be coming.

"Tuukka [Rask] has played two excellent games," said Julien. "Sabourin played the one good game in Toronto, and he gets a chance to play tonight.

"We'll probably get closer to that decision after tonight."

It sounds goofy, but it looks like the B's are ready to play. Marc Savard, Blake Wheeler and Milan Lucic are flying out there...
