Equipment Sale a Success

by Staff Writer / Boston Bruins
BRAINTREE, Mass. -- The Boston Bruins hosted their annual equipment sale, presented by Pure Hockey on Saturday, Sept. 10.

The sale featured player-worn equipment that ranged in price from $5.00 to $1000.

Items up for grabs at Pure Hockey included skates, sticks, helmets, pads, socks, rugs and nameplates from a variety of Bruins players that included Patrice Bergeron, Zdeno Chara, and Tim Thomas.

“This is where I get all of my equipment,” said Duncan of Malden, MA.  “Wearing professional equipment gives me a connection to the players that I never thought I’d have.”

Bruins fans from all corners of the New England area were in attendance as Blades, the Bruins mascot, and Ice Girls Niki and Fasha helped with sales and entertained the many fans who waited in line to enter the sale and throughout the day fans purchased equipment used by their favorite players.

“Hockey is my favorite sport,” said goalie Haley of Falmouth, MA, who was interested in purchasing a goalie stick and a pair of gloves.  “I think it’s cool that the players wore the equipment I bought.”

A portion of the proceeds that were generated from the sale were donated to the Boston Bruins Foundation.
