I was just at the place I’m staying in Denver and my adviser actually called me and gave me the news, and I was definitely very excited.

On what he knows about the Bruins…
They’re obviously a great organization — Original Six team, competitive, been competitive every year the last few years, so definitely an honor to be drafted by them.

On whether he attended the combine…
No, I didn’t.

On how he would describe himself as a player…
I like to think of myself as an offensive guy a guy that can help out on the power play. I feel my vision and playmaking ability are my best attributes.

On why he decided to commit to Denver…
I was talking to a few other schools — Michigan Tech and Nebraska-Omaha, but I came on a visit here and I did love everything about it — the people were great, so I decided to come here.

On whether he considered joining a major junior team…
No, it was never really an option for me. I was kind of a late bloomer, so I never really got much interest.

On which aspects of his game he would most like to work on…
I think everything. I think just always trying to improve on every aspect of my game and I’ll just continue to work hard here in Denver and try to make the Boston Bruins in the future.

On whether he is planning to attend the Bruins’ development camp…
Yeah, I’m not too sure yet because I’m in classes but I definitely would love to make it out there.
