BOSTON, MA - On Monday, March 14, Boston Bruins prospect Daniel Vladar was named CCM/USHL Goaltender of the Week for the week ending March 12. Vladar is currently a goaltender for the Chicago Steel of the USHL (United States Hockey League).
Vladar won back-to-back starts over the weekend including a 36-save shootout win. Vladar stopped 36-of-37 shots Saturday in addition to all five shootout attempts for a 2-1 win one night after stopping 17-of-18 shots. The 2015 NHL Draft pick of the Boston Bruins is playing in his first USHL season and is 9-9-1-3 with a 2.08 GAA and .926 SV%. Vladar ranks second among all USHL goaltenders in goals against average and save percentage.
Vladar previously played for HC Klando (Czech U20) prior to being selected by the Chicago Steel in the USHL Phase II Draft in the first round, seventh overall. With HC Klando, he played 29 games with a 2.78 GAA and a .926 SV%.
The 6’5", 185-pound goaltender was selected by the Boston Bruins in the third round (75th overall) of the 2015 NHL Draft.
