BOSTON, MA- On Monday, November 30 Bruins prospect Daniel Vladar was named CCM/USHL Co-Goaltender of the Week for the week ending November 28 by the USHL. Vladar is currently a goaltender for the Chicago Steel of the USHL (United States Hockey League). Vladar split the CCM/USHL Goaltender of the Week honors with Ben Blacker of the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders.
In two games against the Dubuque Fighting Saints (Friday, November 27 & Saturday, November 28) Vladar stopped 68 of 69 shots in back-to-back starts. Saturday’s 36-save shutout was his second this season in 13 games played. In these two weekend games, Vladar went 2-0-0-0 with a GAA of 0.50 and a save percentage of .986%.
This season, the Prague native ranks fifth in goals against average (2.12), sixth in save percentage (.925) and second in shutouts (two) among USHL goaltenders.
Vladar previously played for HC Klando (Czech U20) prior to being selected by the Chicago Steel in the USHL Phase II Draft in the first round, seventh overall. With HC Klando he played 29 games with a 2.78 goals against average and a .926 save percentage.
The 6’5”, 185-pound goaltender was selected by the Boston Bruins in the third Round (75th overall) of the 2015 NHL Draft.
