“SLICE THE ICE” HOLIDAY SKATE AT TD GARDEN: The Boston Bruins will host their fourth annual “Slice the Ice” event to benefit the Boston Bruins Foundation on Sunday, December 1. “Slice the Ice” will take place across four hour and a half sessions starting at 8:00 a.m. and ending at 2:00 p.m. At the event fans will have the opportunity to skate on the TD Garden ice and take pictures on the Bruins bench, at the Bruins goal, in the penalty box, and with the Zamboni® ice resurfacing machine. Fans will then be taken on a tour of the Boston Bruins locker room followed by a photo op with the 2011 Stanley Cup banner. Fans are encouraged to use this event to stage a unique and memorable family holiday photo.

THANKSGIVING SHOWDOWN RAFFLE: The Boston Bruins are holding a ticket raffle for four (4) luxury suite tickets to watch the Boston Bruins take on the New York Rangers in the Thanksgiving Showdown on Friday, November 29 at TD Garden with puck drop set for 1:00 p.m. ET. BRUINS RECALL KEVAN MILLER: On November 20, Bruins GM Peter Chiarelli announced that the team recalled defenseman Kevan Miller from the Providence Bruins on an emergency basis (American Hockey League).  Miller appeared in his first NHL game on November 21 against the St. Louis Blues where he registered 17:42 TOI and finished with a plus-one rating. Prior to joining Boston, Miller skated in 12 games with the Providence Bruins this season and registered one goal and two assists with 30 penalty minutes. The blueliner has played the last three seasons (2010-2013) with the Providence Bruins, skating in 147 games, notching six goals and 37 assists. The 6’2’’, 210-pound native of Los Angeles, California was signed by Boston as a free agent on October 21, 2011.

PUCKS & PUPS 2014 CALENDAR: The Bruins announced the Pucks & Pups 2014 Bruins calendar, which will benefit the Boston Bruins Foundation and MSPCA Angell. Pucks & Pups is a unique 2014 calendar featuring Bruins players and management photographed with their pets or with adoptable dogs from the MSPCA. Players featured in the calendar include Johnny Boychuk, Gregory Campbell, Zdeno Chara, Jarome Iginla, Chris Kelly, Milan Lucic, Brad Marchand, Daniel Paille, Tuukka Rask, Dennis Seidenberg, and Shawn Thornton. Bruins Principal Charlie Jacobs, President Cam Neely, General Manager Peter Chiarelli and Head Coach Claude Julien also participated in the project. BOSTON BRUINS 90TH ANNIVERSARY: The Boston Bruins will pay tribute to 90 years of history during ten select home games throughout the 2013-14 season. The organization will honor each of the ten decades of Bruins hockey as part of the 90 Years Celebration presented by Alex and Ani.

BRUINS PK STREAK COMES TO AN END: The Bruins streak of consecutive penalty kills came to an end at 33 straight on Tuesday night against the Rangers in New York, when Derek Brassard scored on New York’s second of three power play opportunities.  The goal was the first power play tally allowed by the Bruins since the Penguin’s Chris Kunitz scored against the Bruins in Pittsburgh on October 30.

THREE GAMES IN FOUR NIGHTS: The Bruins concluded their third set of three-games-in-four-nights with Thursday’s 3-2 shootout loss to the St. Louis Blues.  The Black & Gold now have a 2-1-0 record in game ones, a 3-0-0 record in game twos and an 0-2-1 mark in game threes this season.

Bruins netminder Tuukka Rask has had a strong start to the 2013-14 campaign and is currently leading the NHL in save percentage (.945) and ranks third in the league in goals against average (1.62).  Rask has allowed just one goal or fewer in 11 of 19 appearances this season, yielding a 12-5-2 record with two shutouts.

BRUINS LEAD THE EAST: Entering Friday the Bruins led both the Atlantic Division as well as the Eastern Conference with a 14-6-2 record, giving them 30 points, which is two points ahead of the Pittsburgh Penguins who the B’s will play on Monday, November 25 at TD Garden.


THIS WEEK’S SCHEDULE: The Bruins will partake in four matchups this week, including three games at the Garden.  The team will kick off the week with a 1:00 p.m. home game versus the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday, November 23 before taking on the Pittsburgh Penguins on Monday, November 25 at 7:00 p.m.  The Black and Gold will then travel to Detroit for a game against the Red Wings on Wednesday, November 27 at 7:30 p.m. before returning to Boston to play the New York Rangers on Friday, November 29 at 1:00 p.m.

The NESN broadcast team of Jack Edwards, Andy Brickley and Jamie Erdahl will be covering the first three out of four of this week’s upcoming Bruins games.  The NESN team will see the Black and Gold play both home games on Saturday, November 23 and Monday, November 25 versus the Carolina Hurricanes and the Pittsburgh Penguins respectively.  NESN will also broadcast the away game versus the Red Wings on Wednesday, November 27 in Detroit.  NBC and TSN will cover the B’s when they return to TD Garden to play the New York Rangers on Friday, November 29.

BRUINS ON THE AIRWAVES: Bruins defenseman Torey Krug has been confirmed as a weekly call-in guest with 98.5 The Sports Hub’s Andy Gresh and Scott Zolak (Gresh and Zo), which airs weekdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  General Manager Peter Chiarelli and Johnny Boychuk are expected to be regular guests on 98.5 as well with Fred Toucher and Rich Shertenlieb (Toucher and Rich), which airs weekdays from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.  Call-in days and times are dependent upon the B’s schedule.

178 AND COUNTING: Following Thursday’s game against the St. Louis Blues, the Boston Bruins have sold out 178 straight regular season and playoff games. This sellout streak began more than three years ago on December 5, 2009 against the Toronto Maple Leafs. The last game the Bruins did not have 17,565 in attendance at the Garden was on Wednesday, December 2, 2009 when they hosted the Tampa Bay Lightning (16,553).

PATRICE’S PALS: As a part of his continuing charitable initiative Patrice’s Pals, Bruins alternate captain Patrice Bergeron invites children from local hospitals and other organizations to experience a Bruins home game from his luxury suite. Children and their families receive goodie bags filled with Bruins memorabilia, a visit from the Bruins Mascot Blades and Bruins Ice Girls, as well as a feature on the Garden HDX.  After the game, Patrice’s Pals are escorted to ice level and introduced to Patrice himself who signs autographs and takes pictures with his Pals. This will take place at all Boston Bruins home games during the 2013-14 season.

Boston Bruins forward Marc Savard has partnered with the Brain Injury Center at Children’s Hospital Boston, inviting children who suffer from the effects of Brain Trauma, both physically and psychologically, to attend a Bruins home game in his luxury suite. Children and their families receive goodie bags with Bruins memorabilia and a visit from Bruins Mascot Blades and Bruins Ice Girls. Savard started the program on Thursday, January 12, 2012, and it will continue through the end of the 2013-14 Bruins season.

For the entirety of the Boston Bruins 2013-14 regular season, Bruins Principal and Alternate Governor Charlie Jacobs is donating ten balcony tickets to every home game to children from charitable organizations across New England, who are invited to enjoy a Bruins home game from these donated seats.

The 2013-14 season marks an exciting new chapter for Boston Bruins forward Brad Marchand’s charitable program, “Brad’s Brigade”.  Established in 2010, Marchand’s program invites children from pediatric oncology units across New England to experience a Bruins home game. Children and their families sit in the loge section and are featured on the Garden HDX.  Each family also receives a Brad’s Brigade T-Shirt, a Garden Gold Card and a goodie bag with Bruins memorabilia.  At the conclusion of the game, families are escorted down to ice level where they have the opportunity to meet Marchand and get a photo taken with him.


Bruins players Matt Bartkowski, Patrice Bergeron, Gregory Campbell, Loui Eriksson, Dougie Hamilton, Chris Kelly, David Krejci, Milan Lucic, Brad Marchand, Daniel Paille, Dennis Seidenberg, and Shawn Thornton will participate in the Movember movement by growing and maintaining moustaches during the month of November in order to raise funds and awareness for men’s health. To kick off their month-long participation in Movember the players got a clean shave, provided by Gillette, on Thursday, October 31 at TD Garden after their game against the Anaheim Ducks.  Gillette donated $1,000 to each of the player’s Movember pages to jumpstart their fundraising. Fans can get involved by donating to their favorite player’s Movember page or by starting their own at Bruins prizes will be awarded weekly to the fan with the best Mo.
