by Staff Writer / Boston Bruins
Boston, MA - Boston Bruins players Patrice Bergeron, Phil Kessel, Milan Lucic, Mark Stuart, Aaron Ward and Dennis Wideman have partnered with WBCN 104.1 FM to participate in “Cuts for a Cause,” a head-shaving event that will raise money for MassGeneral Hospital for Children.

The event, which will take place at the WBCN Basement on Monday, March 31st between 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. ET during the Toucher & Rich Show, will feature the six Bruins shaving their heads to benefit MassGeneral Hospital for Children.

“Cancer is a horrible disease that either directly or indirectly affects us all,” said Ward.  “As professional athletes we have the responsibility to do whatever we can to support both cancer research and treatment.  We hope that by offering up our hair we can both raise some money for a great cause, and also lend some moral support to those who are battling this terrible disease.”

Between now and Monday, March 31, fans and listeners of the Bruins and WBCN will bid on the opportunity to meet the Bruins players, WBCN personalities and watch the players shave their heads during the fundraising event held at the studios.

In addition, the top six bidders will win the opportunity to actually shave one of the Bruins heads and take home that player's jersey.

All of the money raised through the auction will go directly to the MassGeneral Hospital for Children.
