B's VP Dan Zimmer Promoted

by Staff Writer / Boston Bruins
BOSTON, MA - Boston Bruins Principal Charlie Jacobs announced today that Dan Zimmer has been promoted to Vice President of Corporate Finance and Development for Delaware North Companies in Buffalo, NY. Zimmer has served as the Bruins' Vice President of Business Operations for the past four seasons. Zimmer will begin the transition to this new position immediately, and will remain involved in the Bruins day-to-day business throughout this transitional period.

"Dan has been instrumental in the success the Boston Bruins organization has enjoyed off the ice during the last four years," said Boston Bruins Principal Charlie Jacobs. "He is one of the most knowledgeable minds in the business of professional hockey, and will continue to be a resource at our affiliate, Delaware North, on hockey-related business matters.  All of us at the Bruins would like to congratulate him on this well deserved promotion and extend best wishes on his new role with Delaware North."

As the Bruins Vice President of Business Operations, Zimmer was responsible for the Bruins business strategy and strategic planning, as well as business support services for the team including legal, finance, retail and the box office. During his tenure, the Bruins business operations were reorganized, and Zimmer and his management team oversaw expansions of the Ticket Sales, Marketing, Box Office and Fan Relations departments, all of which helped lead to new ticket pricing policies, improved in-game fan experiences and increased attendance at Bruins games, including a doubling of the Bruins season ticket holder base since 2006.  Zimmer also served as part of the senior management team for the Bruins that worked with the NHL on the NHL’s highly-successful 2010 Winter Classic event held at Fenway Park.

Prior to joining the Bruins in 2006, the Buffalo, NY native served Delaware North Companies in various capacities, and will now be re-joining the company he originally joined in 1995.
