B's to Host Sled Hockey Clinic on 2.28

by Staff Writer / Boston Bruins
BOSTON, MA - On Monday, February 28 from 3:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m., the Boston Bruins in conjunction with World T.E.A.M Sports will host a 90-minute Sled Hockey Clinic for 50 children with disabilities aged 6 and older at the TD Garden (100 Legends Way, Boston, MA 02114). The current Boston Bruins Foundation Director of Development and Bruins alumni Bob Sweeney will be on hand to assist and lead on-ice instruction.

The Sled Hockey Clinic is part of the NHL's "Hockey is for Everyone" initiative. Throughout the month of February, Hockey is for Everyone provides support and unique programming to non-profit youth hockey organizations across North America that are committed to offering children of all backgrounds opportunities to play hockey.

Each of the children will participate in a 45-minute ice hockey clinic, led by members of the U.S. National Sled Hockey team, followed by a 45-minute hockey game. Following the game, the skaters will participate in a pizza party with pizza from the North End’s "Regina Pizzeria".

The participating children are currently enrolled in programs such as Unified Sports Programs and World T.E.A.M Sports. These organizations are dedicated to creating opportunities through sports for both disabled individuals and their allies.
