BOSTON, MA – The Boston Bruins will honor local military members, veterans, and their families at “Military Appreciation Night” presented by the Army National Guard of Massachusetts, Maine and New Hampshire on Tuesday, November 15 at 7:00 p.m. during the Bruins/Devils game at the TD Garden (100 Legends Way, Boston, MA 02114). To show their support for the armed forces, Bruins players Johnny Boychuk, Andrew Ference, Nathan Horton, Milan Lucic and Dennis Seidenberg will each purchase $5,000 worth of tickets to the Bruins/Devils game, which they will give to local military members and their families.
Bruins fans can follow the lead of their favorite Bruins players through the team’s “Seats for Soldiers” program. The Seats for Soldiers program enables fans to purchase specially priced $99 Lower Level Seats and $50 Upper Level Seats that will be donated to the Boston Bruins Foundation who in turn will donate them to the USO New England. The soldiers and their families will be honored throughout the game through photo montages on the Garden HDX, Zamboni rides and video messages, while a select few will have the chance to shake hands with the team as they leave the locker room during intermissions. The Bruins Pro Shop and the Fan Zone stores offer 10% off with a military ID at all times. In conjunction with Military Appreciation Night, all military will receive a 20% off discount on the day of the game.
All in-game fundraising activities, as well as, proceeds from the 50/50 raffle, will benefit the USO. The USO is a nonprofit, congressionally chartered, private organization, which relies on the generosity of individuals, organizations and corporations to support its activities. The USO is not part of the U.S. government, but is recognized by the Department of Defense, Congress and the President of the United States, who serves as Honorary Chairman of the USO.
The 2011-2012 Boston Bruins season is presented by the Massachusetts State Lottery.
