BOSTON, MA – Boston Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli announced today, Friday, October 24, that the club has recalled defensemen Joe Morrow and Zach Trotman from Providence (American Hockey League) on an emergency basis. Morrow and Trotman will join the team in Boston on Friday for their 11:30 a.m. practice at TD Garden and will travel with the team to Toronto.
In addition to the recalls, Chiarelli will be available to the media on Friday at 11:30 a.m. in the Will McDonough Press Room at TD Garden.
Morrow has skated in five games with the Providence Bruins this season with one goal and one assist. Last year, Morrow skated in 56 games with Providence and scored six goals and notched 23 assist for a total of 29 points. He also skated in 12 playoff games with Providence accruing four goals and seven assists.
The 6’1, 206 lb. native of Edmonton, AB was drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the first round (23rd overall) of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
Trotman has skated in five games with the Providence Bruins this season notching one assist. Last season, Trotman played in 53 games for Providence earning eight goals and 16 assists for 24 total points. He also skated in eight playoff games with Providence gaining four assists. The 6’3 219 lb. defenseman has played in two career NHL games with Boston.
The native of Noblesville, Indiana was drafted by the Bruins in the seventh round (210th overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
