BOSTON -Bruins prospects Riley Duran, Philip Svedebäck, and Fabian Lysell are starting off their seasons hot, making headlines after their first week of regular season play.

Duran Starts Strong with Friars

Woburn native Riley Duran has four goals in three games to begin his second season with the 3-0 Providence College Friars. Duran scored one in the home opener and paired it with an assist in a blowout, 6-1 win over Sacred Heart. He carried that momentum into last Thursday's game vs. Clarkson, netting two of the five goals in a 5-2 victory. Most recently, Duran earned a goal in the Friars' first road game vs. Northeastern.
The B's 2020 sixth-round pick represented Team USA at the 2022 World Juniors where he earned two goals, three assists and was a plus-5 in five games played.
Duran had a strong freshman year at Providence College, playing in all 38 games and finishing with 10 goals and nine assists for 19 points.

Svedebäck Named Hockey East Goaltender of the Week

Philip Svedebäck, the B's 2021 fourth-round pick stopped 54 of 57 shots over two Providence wins last week earning him some well deserved Hockey East recognition as Goaltender of the Week. Svedebäck has an undefeated record through three games, with a 1.33 GAA and .945 save percentage, stopping 69 of 73 shots he has faced.

A familiar celebration that B's fans have seen before got a Friars spin last week, as Svedeback and fellow goaltender Austin Roden went in for a big hug - a la Jeremy Swayman and Linus Ullmark - and got considered for NCAA Photo of the Week.

Lysell Continues to Shine

Fabian Lysell scored on the first shot of his AHL career on Opening Night in a 4-3 win over the Bridgeport Islanders. Lysell also earned a spot on the American Hockey League's three stars following a standout performance with three assists in the Providence Bruins' 4-3 win over Springfield on Sunday.
