B's Place Eriksson on Injured Reserve and Recall N. Johnson

BOSTON, MA – Boston Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli announced today, Tuesday, December 10, that the club has placed forward Loui Eriksson on injured reserve with a concussion.

Chiarelli also announced that the team has recalled forward Nick Johnson from Providence on an emergency basis. Johnson will join the team in Calgary Tuesday and be available for their game against the Calgary Flames Tuesday night.

Johnson has skated in 23 games with Providence this season, notching 11 goals (second on the team) and nine assists for 20 points (third on the team) with a plus-seven rating.

The winger has appeared in a total of 206 games at the AHL level, racking up 64 goals and 79 assists with a combined plus-51 rating.

The forward has 104 games of NHL experience, skating in 17 games win the Phoenix Coyotes (2012-13), 77 games with the Minnestota Wild and 10 games with the Pittsburgh Penguins (2009-2011). In total, Johnson has accrued 14 goals and 23 assists for 37 points at the NHL level.

The 6’2’’, 200-pound native of Calgary, Alberta was drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the third round (67th overall) of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. The Boston Bruins signed Johnson as a free agent on July 5, 2013.
