BOSTON - Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney announced today, December 30, that the team has placed defenseman Charlie McAvoy on injured reserve and recalled defenseman Jeremy Lauzon from Providence on an emergency basis.

McAvoy, 22, suffered a lower body injury in the team's win vs. Washington on December 23. The 6-foot, 208-pound defenseman has produced 13 assists with a plus-13 rating in 38 games with Boston this season.
Lauzon, 22, skated in 16 games with Boston last season. He has tallied one goal and nine assists for 10 points with a plus-16 rating in 35 games with Providence this year. The 6-foot-1, 205-pound defenseman was originally selected by Boston in the second round (52nd overall) of the 2015 NHL Draft.
