Bruins Week Ahead

by Staff Writer / Boston Bruins

BUSY B'S: The Black & Gold conclude their stretch of five games in eight days on Saturday when they visit the Blue Jackets in Columbus. The matchup with the Jackets will be the second of the season for Boston, as the B's captured a hard fought 2-1 shootout win in the first meeting back on November 17.

Boston will have midweek back-to-back games for the second time in as many weeks when they host the Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday, December 13 and then travel to Ottawa to face the Sens the next night on Wednesday, December 14. The Bruins will stay over in Ottawa Wednesday night and Thursday night and then head to Philadelphia Friday afternoon for their Saturday matinee tilt with the Flyers. The battle with Philly will be the first time the two clubs have faced each other since the Bruins raised their sixth banner to the rafters on opening night.

Check the "Upcoming Schedule" section below for practice details while the team is in Ottawa.

Jack Edwards and Andy Brickley will call all four games on NESN and the tandem of Dave Goucher and Bob Beers will handle the radio duties on 98.5 The Sports Hub. Start times for the games are as follows:

12/10 vs. CBJ: 7:00 p.m. ET
12/13 vs. LAK: 7:00 p.m. ET
12/14 vs. OTT: 7:30 p.m. ET
12/17 vs. PHI: 1:00 p.m. ET

PAILLE OUT: Bruins forward Daniel Paille did not travel with the Bruins to Columbus and will miss Saturday night's game with a mild concussion. The injury occurred during the first period of the B's/Panthers game on Thursday when he was involved in a collision with Panther Krys Barch.

SEIDENBERG, LUCIC SPEND MAXIM'S MONEY: Pick up the December issue of Maxim magazine for a unique feature involving Bruins Milan Lucic and Dennis Seidenberg. The Bruins duo was charged with spending $848 of Maxim's money in one afternoon in Boston any way they wanted. Instead of splurging on themselves, Lucic and Seidenberg decided to show up at Mike's Pastry, jump behind the counter and serve pastries to customers until half of the money was gone. They then selected 20 lucky people at random to join them on a Duck Tour around Boston, paid for by the other half of the Maxim money. Check out the article and photos here:

As a co-ed institution recruiting athletes in grades 9 to 12 from around the world, CIH Academy provides a uniquely rich and diversified experience for all who attend. The Bruins are scheduled to practice at the academy at 11:00 a.m. ET. B'S INK HAMILTON: Boston Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli announced Thursday that the club has signed defenseman Dougie Hamilton to an entry-level contract. As of December 8, the 18-year-old Hamilton ranked tied for seventh amongst all Ontario Hockey League skaters in scoring, with 41 points on 11 goals and 30 assists. He currently leads all OHL defensemen in goals, assists and points.

101 AND COUNTING: Including the Bruins/Panthers game on Thursday, the Bruins have now sold out their last 101 home games at the TD Garden, including regular season and playoffs. This sellout streak began nearly two years ago on December 5, 2009 against the Toronto Maple Leafs. The last game the Bruins did not have 17,565 in attendance at the Garden was on Wednesday, December 2, 2009 when they hosted the Tampa Bay Lightning (16,553).
