THIS WEEK'S NEWS, NOTES AND NUMBERS…
STAT OF THE WEEK: Jake DeBrusk and Charlie McAvoy scored their first career NHL goals in their first career regular season games against the Nashville Predators. The last two Bruins rookies to accomplish the same feat were Zellio Toppazzini and Dave Creighton on February 12, 1949 against the New York Rangers.
QUOTE OF THE WEEK: "Zee has been a real killer here. His physicality and his endurance, the time he spends on the ice. He's been a tremendous investment, but his personality and his character goes a long way to establish what this team is. I think he's done a great job with it. And his captaincy is very much earned." -Jeremy Jacobs on Zdeno Chara.

TWEET OF THE WEEK (WEEK 3): @DJ\Bean (DJ Bean, NBC Sports Boston): That counts as a pick-6 given that McAvoy intercepted a pass and scored"
HONORABLE MENTION:‏ @MattKalman (Matt Kalman, NHL.com): "Love how Jake DeBrusk took my dumb question and proved how Zen he is:
'Feel like you're here or what?'
'Well, yeah, I'm here at the moment right now.'"
