Bruins Week Ahead: March 23 - March 30

Stay up to date on all the latest news, notes and numbers

by Boston Bruins @NHLBruins / Boston Bruins

STAT OF THE WEEK: Rookie forward Ryan Donato recorded three points (one goal, two assists) in his NHL debut on March 19 versus the Columbus Blue Jackets, becoming the second player in Bruins history - along with Jarno Kultanen on October 5, 2000 - to accomplish this feat. With his goal, Donato became the eighth Bruin (Jake DeBrusk , Charlie McAvoy , Anders Bjork , Danton Heinen , Sean Kuraly , Peter Cehlarik, Matt Grzelcyk ) to score his first NHL goal this season, marking the highest total since the 1983-84 season, when nine players notched their first goals. The franchise record of 10 was set in the Bruins' inaugural season in 1924-25.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK: "I mean, during warmups, actually, I was kind of taken away. I mean, it kind of felt like a dream, and I really didn't even get that warmed up because I was too focused on everything else and just kind of the whole situation. At the end of the day, it was an unbelievable experience, and it was a blessing tonight." -Ryan Donato on his first NHL game

TWEET OF THE WEEK (WEEK 28): @_TyAnderson (Ty Anderson, WEEI): She say, "Do you love me?" I tell her, "Only partly" I only love Donato and Cup runs, I'm sorry

HONORABLE MENTIONS: @GlobeFluto: (Fluto Shinzawa, Boston Globe): No. 17 looks shriveled on Ryan Donato compared to its previous wearer.

@_TyAnderson (Ty Anderson, WEEI): Seems illegal to have Jaden Schwartz and Jordan Szwarz playing in the same game.

@GlobeKPD (Kevin Dupont, Boston Globe): Donato has less than three weeks to capture Rookie of the Year.
