Bruins Week Ahead: March 2-9

by Boston Bruins @NHLBruins / Boston Bruins

THIS WEEK'S NEWS, NOTES AND NUMBERS…

STAT OF THE WEEK: The Bruins entered March having played the fewest number of games in the NHL (61). There is only one break of two days between games through the remainder of the regular season (March 4-5), and they will play 19 games in 34 days from March 6 - April 8, with three back-to-backs (March 10-11, March 31-April 1, April 7-8) and only one-day breaks between the other games.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK: "If you get traded, this is the kind of place you want to go to. A hungry team, a team that is capable of winning it all and a team with the skill and work ethic of the Bruins here. So, really happy to be here and just going to try to contribute any way I can." -Tommy Wingels on being traded to the Bruins at the deadline

TWEET OF THE WEEK (WEEK 25): @_TyAnderson (Ty Anderson, WEEI): Bruins bring themselves within one just 2.9 before period ends. Riley Nash. Sorry, Miley, but this is definitely a Nash-ville Party. - Following Rick Nash's and Riley Nash's goals on Feb. 27 vs. Carolina

HONORABLE MENTIONS: @DaleEArnold (Dale Arnold, NESN): Zdeno Chara plays a three minute shift, makes an incredible save on the goal line, then fights Jamie Oleksiak. Chara is straight out beast mode.

@DJ_Bean (DJ Bean, NBC Sports Boston): The Bruins still have the acquisition of the year (Chara's IG)

@_TyAnderson (Ty Anderson, WEEI): Riley Nash, on Brad Marchand calling him a mini-version of Patrice Bergeron: "That just means I'm a little worse version."
