CAMP OPENS: The Bruins full camp officially began Friday with fitness testing and physicals for the 57 players on the club’s training camp roster. The Bruins announced their two groupings on Friday.

Please note that the player groups are subject to change.

The 2010 Bruins Training Camp is presented by AT&T.

SAVARD OUT: Bruins center Marc Savard will not participate in the beginning of training camp, as he is suffering from symptoms related to post concussion syndrome.

“The latter part of the summer, he came to us and said he’s been suffering some symptoms related to post-concussion syndrome,” said Bruins GM Peter Chiarelli in his press briefing on Friday. “He’s here.  He’s being treated. He won’t be skating.  I’ll give you updates periodically when I have information.” 

EQUIPMENT SALE, OPEN PRACTICES THIS WEEKEND: Stop by the Bruins Pro Shop on Saturday, September 18 at 8:30 a.m. to check out the Bruins Equipment Sale. The equipment selection will include skates, practice jerseys, socks, helmets, gloves, pants, sticks, rugs, nameplates and Winter Classic uniform items (not worn during Winter Classic game). After the equipment sale, head on up to the rink where the Bruins will be holding two open-to-the-public practices, the first beginning at 10 a.m.

Sunday’s two practice sessions at the TD Garden are free and open to the public as well (10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.).
 
“STATE OF THE BRUINS” SET FOR TUESDAY: The Boston Bruins will hold their annual “State of the Bruins” Town Hall Meeting on Tuesday, September 21 at 7:00 p.m. ET at the TD Garden. Attending this year’s State of the Bruins will be Owner Jeremy Jacobs, Principal Charlie Jacobs, President Cam Neely, General Manager Peter Chiarelli, Head Coach Claude Julien, captain Zdeno Chara and forwards Patrice Bergeron and Mark Recchi. Former Bruin and NESN color commentator, Andy Brickley, will serve as the evening’s moderator. The Bruins executives will give opening statements regarding the current “State of the Bruins” before beginning the question and answer session with the fans.

BIG TICKET: The Massachusetts State Lottery and the Boston Bruins are teaming up again for a new $5 instant ticket that will raise more than $6.2 million for Bay State communities while rewarding fans with millions in prizes, incomparable game seats, authentic Bruins gear and ultimate fan experiences. Treasurer Timothy P. Cahill and Boston Bruins President Cam Neely unveiled the new ticket using a 50-foot-by-30-foot replica displayed on the TD Garden facade Thursday afternoon.

BRUINS RELEASE 5: General Manager Peter Chiarelli also announced Friday they have released five players from rookie camp: Matt Delahey, Alain Goulet, Joe Pleckaitis, Yannick Riendeau and Walker Wintoneak, These five players will not participate in the team’s full training camp.

COACH AVAILABILITY: Bruins Head Coach Claude Julien will hold a daily press briefing following the conclusion of the second session’s player availability.

WHAT: Boston Bruins Equipment Sale
Bruins fans will have the chance to buy an assortment of equipment worn by current and former Bruins players in either practice or game situations. The equipment selection will include skates, practice jerseys, socks, helmets, gloves, pants, sticks, rugs, nameplates and Winter Classic uniform items (not worn during Winter Classic game). The prices range from $2.00 to $250.00 dollars depending on the item. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Boston Bruins Foundation.

WHAT: “State of the Bruins”
The Boston Bruins will hold their annual “State of the Bruins” Town Hall Meeting on Tuesday, September 21 at 7:00 p.m. ET at the TD Garden.
