DID YOU MISS US?: Hockey season in the Hub is upon us as the Bruins 2010-11 Training Camp officially gets underway next week. The B’s rookies will kick things off on Sunday, September 12 with fitness testing and practice while the veterans will open their camp on Friday, September 17. Check the schedule below for practice times, schedule information and media availability. Please note that the camp practices on Saturday, September 18 and Sunday, September 19 are open to the public and free of charge.

CHIARELLI, MURRAY TO SPEAK: Bruins GM Peter Chiarelli and Providence Bruins Head Coach Rob Murray will address the media following the practice sessions during rookie camp.

ROOKIES INVADE THE GARDEN: The Bruins Rookies will face off against the New York Islanders Rookies on back-to-back nights next week at the TD Garden in Boston on Wednesday, September 15 and Thursday, September 16. Both games will start at 7:00 p.m. ET. Bruins Full Season Ticket Holders and Premium Clients will receive free tickets to both games, while admission to both games for the general public will be five dollars ($5.00), with the proceeds benefitting the Boston Bruins Foundation.

“BACK TO WORK”: In a first ever pre-season telecast, NESN will air a 2-hour special, Back to Work: Bruins Training Camp Live at the Garden, on Thursday, September 16 at 9:00 pm.  Scheduled to appear are Zdeno Chara, Mark Recchi and Tyler Seguin. Also scheduled to appear are Bruins President Cam Neely and General Manager Peter Chiarelli. Back to Work will coincide with the conclusion of the final rookie game of the pre-season against the New York Islanders.

TEE TIME: The Boston Bruins Foundation will host their 7th annual golf tournament at The International in Bolton, MA on Monday, September 13 at 11:00 a.m. (159 Ballville Road, Bolton, MA 01740). The event is open to the media, with availability taking place between 10-11 a.m. on the driving range.

STURMY’S POKER PARTY: Marco Sturm and the Boston Bruins Foundation will host the first annual “Sturmy’s Poker Party” on Wednesday, September 15, at the Liberty Hotel (215 Charles Street, Boston, MA 02114). Sturm will be joined at the tables by his teammates Patrice Bergeron, Johnny Boychuk, Zdeno Chara, David Krejci, Milan Lucic, Mark Recchi, Dennis Seidenberg, Mark Stuart, Tuukka Rask and Blake Wheeler. Participant check-in begins at 6:30 p.m. with the official tournament beginning at 8:00 p.m.

B’S PARTNER UP: The Boston Bruins announced Wednesday that they have entered a partnership agreement with Finnish SM-League Club, JYP Jyvaskyla.  Under this agreement, the teams will be able to transfer players and have them train with the partner club and within the partner club’s developmental system, as well as exchange tactics and scouting information.  The 14-team SM-League is the top professional ice hockey league in Finland and is considered one of the top leagues in all of Europe. Tim Thomas is a SM-League veteran, having played for three different clubs, HIFK Helsinki, Karpat and Jokerit Helsinki, while Tuukka Rask played for Ilves Tampere for three seasons from 2004-2007.

WHAT: G.O.A.L! (Get Out And Learn) Youth Hockey Clinics
The Boston Bruins and FMC Ice Sports have partnered to host G.O.A.L! (Get Out And Learn) clinics throughout the 2010-11 season. G.O.A.L! provides children ages 4-7, new to the sport of hockey, with free skating and hockey instruction. All of the hockey equipment including skates and helmets are provided so the children can fully experience the sport of hockey safely and free of charge. Bruins fans can sign up to participate in any of the G.O.A.L! clinics at www.bostonbruins.com. Blades and the Bruins youth hockey development team will be on-hand to assist the new skaters and help create a fun atmosphere for everyone involved.

WHAT: 7th Annual Boston Bruins’ Golf Tournament
The 2010-2011 Boston Bruins, Bruins alumni, coaching staff and management will be hitting the links at the 7th Annual Boston Bruins’ Golf Tournament on Monday, September 13, at The International. Registration begins at 10:00 a.m. with a shotgun start at 11:00 a.m. Bruins fans and fellow golfers will play 18 holes at one of the most beautiful and exclusive private golf courses in New England. Each participating foursome will be joined a member of the Bruins organizations.

WHAT: First Annual “Sturmy’s Poker Party”
Marco Sturm and the Boston Bruins Foundation will host the first annual “Sturmy’s Poker Party” on Wednesday, September 15, at the Liberty Hotel to benefit the Franciscan Hospital for Children. Sturm will be joined at the tables by his teammates as well as Toucher and Rich from 98.5 The Sports Hub, Kathryn Tappen from NESN and Ken Casey of the Dropkick Murphys. Festivities include a fun filled reception, silent auction and an evening of Texas Hold’em poker ($4,000 in chips/15 minute blinds). A limited number of tickets will be available for $250 each.

WHAT: Boston Bruins Equipment Sale
Bruins fans will have the chance to buy an assortment of equipment worn by current and former Bruins players in either practice or game situations. The equipment selection will include skates, practice jerseys, socks, helmets, gloves, pants, sticks, rugs, nameplates and Winter Classic uniform items (not worn during Winter Classic game). The prices range from $2.00 to $250.00 dollars depending on the item. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Boston Bruins Foundation.
