THIS WEEK'S NEWS, NOTES AND NUMBERS…

STAT OF THE WEEK: Patrice Bergeron's three-point effort against the Dallas Stars on February 26 marked his 33rd three-point game, ranking fourth all-time in franchise history (Ray Bourque [61], Adam Oates [56], Cam Neely [49]).

STAT OF THE WEEK II: Brad Marchand is riding a four game point-streak. He has eight points (four goals, four assists) during the stretch.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK: "I mean, I'm very happy with how our team has responded here, and I think that adding to the group continues to send a message that the group has played well and it's a nice response. It's not a surprise that our core players are leading that charge. They want to win, and they want to feel like they're being supported. So, that's what the task was at this particular time, without taking away from or breaking down the commitment piece of what we want to do now and moving forward." - General Manager Don Sweeney on the recent success of the team and his acquisition of Drew Stafford.

TWEET OF THE WEEK (WEEK 25): @MattKalman (Matt Kalman, NHL.com): "i've already removed cassidy's interim coach tag & replaced it with super genius coach, of course"

HONORABLE MENTION: @_TyAnderson (Ty Anderson, WEEI.com): "Brad Marchand's goal was just too cruel, even for a Roadrunner vs. Wile E. Coyote cartoon."

@KenGriffeyRules (Jon Wallach, 98.5 The Sports Hub): "[Bruce] CASSIDY'S A GENIUS."
