Patrice Bergeron went 31-7 in the faceoff circle vs. Vancouver on Feb. 24, the most faceoff wins by any NHL player this season and the most by a Bruin since the stat became available through the NHL scoring system in 1998. Bergeron's previous game-high was 27 vs. Chicago on 6/12/13 and his previous regular season game-high was 24 on 11/15/11 vs. NY Islanders. Only 5 Bruins other than Bergeron have even won 20-or-more faceoffs in a game since 1998 (Joe Thornton, Dave Scatchard, Jason Allison, Jozef Stumpel, Tim Taylor). The Bruins have had less than 31 faceoff wins as a team in 25 games this season and have tied that mark in 2 other games.NO REST FOR THE WEARY:
Entering Friday's game in New Jersey, Tuukka Rask has played in 18 straight games dating back to Jan. 10, which is the longest regular season stretch of his career (he played 22 straight in the 2013 post-season). It is the most consecutive regular season games played by a Boston goaltender since Tim Thomas played 18 straight from Jan. 27-Mar. 3, 2007 (Thomas played all 25 games of the 2011 post-season) and Thomas also played in 21 straight earlier in the 2006-07 season from Oct. 21-Dec. 9, 2006.244 AND COUNTING:
Following Saturday’s home game against the Vancouver Canucks, the Boston Bruins have sold out 244 straight regular season and playoff games. This sellout streak began more than five years ago on December 5, 2009 against the Toronto Maple Leafs. The last game the Bruins did not have 17,565 in attendance at the Garden was on Wednesday, December 2, 2009 when they hosted the Tampa Bay Lightning (16,553).UPCOMING GAMES…BOSTON MEDIA TWEET OF THE WEEK (TOTW):
