BRUINS SCORE IN WORLD JUNIOR FINAL: Two Bruins prospects laced up the skates for their home countries in Thursday night's 2017 IIHF World Junior Championship Gold Medal game. Defensemen Charlie McAvoy (USA) and Jeremy Lauzon (Canada) laid it all on the line, showcasing their potential and talent at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec. It took an overtime period and eventual shootout to crown McAvoy and Team USA champions in an electric 5-4 contest.

McAvoy took home Player of the Game honors, playing 35:33 of a possible 80 minutes. The Boston University defenseman tallied a goal and an assist in the effort, along with a plus-three rating. Lauzon scored a goal and a plus-one rating in 11:58 of ice time for Team Canada.

CASINO NIGHT: The Boston Bruins Foundation will host its annual Casino Night featuring the current Bruins roster and Bruins alumni on Saturday, January 14 from 5 - 9 p.m. at The Hotel Commonwealth. BRUINS ACADEMY: Bruins Academy is part of the Bruins' ongoing mission to encourage positive youth development through the sport of hockey. To join the club, download the new mobile app designed specifically for kids called Bruins Academy presented by Floating Hospital for Children at Tufts Medical Center. STAT OF THE WEEK: During his 16-season NHL career, Milt Schmidt played in a total of 86 playoff games compiling 49 points (24 goals, 25 assists) and led the Bruins to two Stanley Cup Championships (1938-39 and 1940-41). During the Bruins 1940-41 Stanley Cup run, Schmidt registered 11 points in 11 playoff games, finishing first in the NHL playoff point race.

FIRST RESPONDER CHALLENGE: Know a Firefighter, Police Officer, or EMT? The Boston Bruins are looking for first responders to take part in the BFit First Responder Challenge presented by National Grid on Sunday, January 22 from 8:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. Individuals or teams of 4-10 will participate in the in-arena TD Garden course that finishes on ice level. CONCORD YOUTH HOCKEY PASS CLINIC: Concord Youth Hockey Association has been chosen to be the recipient of one of ten TD Bank PASS Clinics throughout New England this winter and has been awarded a one-hour ice hockey clinic run by the Boston Bruins Youth Hockey Development team on Wednesday, January 11. The Concord Youth Hockey Association will also receive $1,000 courtesy of TD Bank, as well as 100 tickets to a Bruins game. 



Saturday, January 7, 2017, 6 p.m. - The Bruins Alumni will faceoff against Team Renzi at the Berkshire School in Sheffield, MA. The game will benefit the Renzi Family Scholarship Fund named in honor of Mike Renzi, who has killed in a car accident in 2015 and had coached youth hockey in the Berkshire area for over 18 years. Sunday, January 8, 2017, 1 p.m. - The team will travel to Springfield, MA for a game at the Olympia Ice Center. The game will benefit members of the Holy Name Youth Hockey Association. Tickets are $5 and may be purchased at the door the day of the event. Making the trip and expected on the ice for both games are Terry O'Reilly, Rick Middleton, Glen Featherstone, and Bill Bennett, along with the rest of the Bruins Alumni team.

Sunday, January 15, 2017, 3:05 p.m. - The Bruins Alumni will play the Stephen Cmar ROTC Crusaders at the Everett Arena in Concord, NH. This will be the 3rd annual game to benefit the Stephen Cmar ROTC Scholarship Fund. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased in advance at Ken Linseman, Rick Middleton and Terry O'Reilly are expected to take the ice.
