THIS WEEK'S NEWS, NOTES AND NUMBERS…

STAT OF THE WEEK: Over the last eight games, the Bruins are tied for third in the NHL in goals scored (27), averaging 3.38 goals per game. Comparatively, the Bruins scored just 93 goals over their first 40 games (2.33 goals per game), which ranked tied for 19th in the NHL.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK: "Well, I think right now, he's feeling it, and that's the word I use when I talk about Brad [Marchand], is that when he's feeling it, he makes a lot of good things happen, and it hasn't always been like that this year. But now he's starting to heat up, and that's a good sign. That's one of the key traits that he has, is anticipation and knowing when to make those moves that he's been making, and in less high-risk situations. So, it's nice to see him coming around that way." - Boston Bruins head coach Claude Julien on Brad Marchand's recent run of success and ability to steal the puck.

TWEET OF THE WEEK (WEEK 19): @_TimRosenthal (Tim Rosenthal, Bruins Daily): "A power play, shorthanded and even strength goal for Bruins. Bill Belichick would say they are scoring in 'all three phases'"

HONORABLE MENTIONS: @kluedeke29 (Kirk Luedeke, Red Line Report): "When Jakob Forsbacka-Karlsson tallied 7th goal in last 4 games tonight, 1st guy to him to celebrate- Charlie McAvoy. Get used to it NHL fans"
