STATS YOU MAY FIND INTERESTING…

MARCHAND LEADING: Five of Brad Marchand’s eight goals this season have given Boston a lead in a game, including four first goals of a game.  The winger’s eight goals currently lead Boston, while his 17 points are tied for third on the team with defenseman Dougie Hamilton.

SMITTY’S HOT STREAK:
Bruins forward Reilly Smith finished with multiple-point performances in two out of his last three games, with his two goals against the San Jose Sharks on December 4 and his two assists versus Arizona on December 6.  The winger kept his point streak (three games) alive against the Chicago Blackhawks on Thursday night, scoring his seventh goal of the season, giving him five points (3-2=5 totals) in his last three games.

BACK IN BLACK & GOLD: Bruins defenseman Zdeno Chara skated against the Chicago Blackhawks on Thursday, which was his first game played since being injured in the Bruins/Islanders game on Thursday, October 23 (19 games missed). Chara has missed 20 games out of a possible 631 prior to his current injury since he joined the Bruins at the start of the 2006-07 season. Only 11 of those games were due to injury.

HOME SHUTOUT STREAK VS. CHICAGO SNAPPED:
The Bruins had their home shutout streak over the Blackhawks snapped at 131:21 when Klas Dahlbeck scored at 9:10 of the first period on Thursday evening.  The Bruins had shut out Chicago by 3-0 scores in each of their previous two visits to Boston before Thursday night's 3-2 loss.
