MARCHAND, RASK SELECTED TO 2017 ALL-STAR GAME: The National Hockey League announced on January 10 that Boston Bruins forward Brad Marchand and goaltender Tuukka Rask have been selected to the 2017 NHL All-Star Game. This is the first All-Star Game selection for both Marchand and Rask. Marchand, 28, leads the Bruins in points this season with 15 goals and 23 assists for 38 points in 45 games, to go along with 42 penalty minutes and a plus-five rating. Rask, 29, is tied for first in the NHL in shutouts (5), third in the NHL in goals against average (1.95), tied for third in the NHL in wins (21) and seventh in the NHL in save percentage (.926) this season.

STAT OF THE WEEK 1: Bruins defenseman Torey Krug has scored a goal in each of the team's last two games and has produced at least one point in nine of the team's last 11 games. Since December 22, Krug is tied for fifth in the NHL in points (12) and second in the NHL in assists (10).

 

STAT OF THE WEEK 2: Since 2010-11, his first full NHL season, Bruins forward Brad Marchand leads the NHL in plus/minus (+146).

TD BANK PASS CLINIC: The Eastern Connecticut Hockey Organization has been chosen to be the recipient of 1 of 10 TD Bank PASS Clinics throughout New England this winter and has been awarded a 1-hour ice hockey clinic run by the Boston Bruins Youth Hockey Development team on Wednesday, January 18. As a TD Bank PASS Clinic recipient, Eastern Connecticut Hockey Organization will also receive $1,000 courtesy of TD Bank as well as 100 tickets to a Bruins game.

FIRST RESPONDER CHALLENGE: Know a Firefighter, Police Officer, or EMT? The Boston Bruins are looking for first responders to take part in the BFit First Responder Challenge presented by National Grid on Sunday, January 22, 2017 from 8:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Individuals or teams of 4-10 will participate in the in-arena TD Garden course that finishes on ice level. The B-Fit Team will be traveling to Burlington, MA for another School Assembly Program powered by B-Fit visit on January 17. Led by Bruins Foundation Director of Health, Fitness, and Wellness, John Whitesides, and the B-Fit Team, Memorial Elementary School will learn about nutrition and getting out and moving by engaging in interactive activities for the 45-minute program. Each school participating in the School Assembly Program powered by B-Fit will also receive a full set of Bruins Bauer Street Hockey gear for free.

 

BOSTON BRUINS ALUMNI GAME:  

Sunday, January 15, 2017, 3:05 p.m. - The Bruins Alumni will play the Stephen Cmar ROTC Crusaders at the Everett Arena in Concord, NH in the 3rd annual game to benefit the Stephen Cmar ROTC Scholarship Fund, named after Stephen Cmar who was tragically killed in a motorcycle accident in 2010. Tickets are $10. And can be purchased in advance at http://www.cmarfund.com/bruins-fundraiser. Ken Linseman, Rick Middleton, and Terry O'Reilly are expected to take the ice.
