11/6 vs. the Edmonton Oilers: 03201266 (Beneficiary: Boston Bruins Foundation)

STATS YOU MAY FIND INTERESTING…

HAMILTON GOING HAM:  Bruins defenseman Dougie Hamilton had a goal and two assists on Thursday vs. Edmonton, giving him 1-3=4 totals in three of his last four games with 2-6=8 totals in four of his last six contests.  It was his third multiple point game of the season and the three points matches his pervious career-high for points in a game. Hamilton’s 10 points lead all Bruins defensemen, are tied for third on the team and tied for fifth in the league among NHL blueliners.

WIN STREAK VS. EDMONTON EXTENDED: With Thursday’s win over the Oilers, the Bruins have won their last 13 matchups with Edmonton as their last loss came in a 6-1 road setback on October 17, 2000.  The Bruins' 13-game win streak vs. the Oilers is their longest such active streak vs. an opponent and is tied for the longest such current streak in the league (Chicago, 13 vs. Columbus).  The longest win streak versus an opponent (non-active) in Bruins franchise history is 17 straight wins against the Ottawa Senators, which stretched from 1992 to 1995. The 17 wins were the first 17 contests between the two teams before that win streak was snapped by a 3-3 tie on November 25, 1995.

17 HITS 500 GAME MILESTONE:  Bruins winger Milan Lucic played in his 500th NHL/Bruins game against the Edmonton Oilers on Thursday, while also chipping in an empty net goal in the third period for his 124th career NHL goal.

This sellout streak began more than four years ago on December 5, 2009 against the Toronto Maple Leafs. The last game the Bruins did not have 17,565 in attendance at the Garden was on Wednesday, December 2, 2009 when they hosted the Tampa Bay Lightning (16,553).

BOSTON MEDIA TWEET OF THE WEEK (TOTW): With another hockey season comes another year of the Boston Bruins Media Tweet of the Week competition. This week’s TOTW goes to Joe Haggerty for his Anchorman reference during the Edmonton Oilers game on Throwback Thursday, November 6.

@HackswithHaggs (Joe Haggerty, CSNNE.com): David Krejci rang up 6 minutes worth of penalties in 1st period. I'm not even mad. I'm impressed. Will he eat a whole wheel of cheese next?

This week’s honorable mentions listed in no particular order:
@GlobeFluto (Fluto Shinzawa, Boston Globe): Regular is $2.83 in Wilmington. Best bargain since Carl Soderberg at just over $1M.
@DJ_Bean (DJ Bean, WEEI.com): Pretty sure @tdgarden's been advertising a Cher concert for as long as I've covered the B's. Strong use of it'll-happen-eventually marketing
@MLoftus_Ledger (Mike Loftus, Patriot Ledger): #NHLBruins LW Milan Lucic, who's playing 500th NHL game, probably knew about B's 12-game win streak over #Oilers w/out reading press notes.
